Character Name: Dr. Felicino Vargas

Appearance: Dr. Vargas is always dressed for the occasion, in a shirt and practical trousers, his smart shoes adding a finishing touch. He has red-brown hair pushed back out of his eyes, though one strand refuses to stay down, and soft golden eyes. He is usually seen with a smile and his handy dandy apparatus bag.

Sexuality: Homosexual (though he'd never admit to this in a Victorian asylum)
Personality: Feliciano is incredibly optimistic and honestly believes that every patient can be cured with time and patience. This can lead him to great disappointment when more severe operations such as lobotomy and electrotherapy are necessary but he is determined to remain professional. He liked to befriend his patients, hoping that a friendly face and a listening ear can cure more than a dose of opium ever will. He is a little easy to manipulate in this sense but he always puts his proffession before his personal judgement.
Background: Feliciano grew up within middle class household with his brother and parents. He always felt an almost maternal instinct towards his fellow man and realised at the age of fifteen that he wanted to persue a career in medicine so that he could help the people around him. He left home to train to become a doctor and had little contact with his family after. But he found it difficult to learn of medicine in his home town as the nation was battling an epidemic. Without the skills to help nor the manpower to be taught, he moved away.
He moved to London to advance his career and was offered an apprenticeship in psychology with a seniour doctor who taught him all he knew. After completing his doctrate, Feliciano Vargas PHD was offered a position in the Birch Street Asylum to help the patients there. He was always a friendly individual and developed a love of emotional therapy over physical therapy and leech use over opium. Excited to begin work, he accepted the position and prepared himself the work ahead of him. He's still new to his surroundings but he hopes to find in and thrive.
