Mutant Abilities: Control over water and ice. Also, he is completely unaffected by cold of any kind, but that means he's much more sensitive to warmer climates.

X-Men or Brotherhood: Originally part of the Brotherhood, but after a certain tussle with Gil, he loses his memory and ends up joining the X-Men.

Personality: Pre-memory loss, he is sadistic, calculated, manipulative, heartless, and downright evil with a morbid sense of humor which he hides behind a mock innocent smile at all hours of the day. After losing his memory, he completely forgot about his years with the Brotherhood, the people he had known in that time, and who he used to be.

Background: As a child, Ivan used to play in the snow, making all kinds of shapes and figures with the ice that was in infinite supply in his homeland. Of course, being a freak child in an orphanage resulted in him being isolated and ostracized from the other children. The nuns who ran the orphanage feared him, and the children despised him because of his inhuman powers and his apparent immunity to the subzero temperatures of the Russian winter. Of course, it was the very day that Ivan had frozen several of the children into solid statues and was throwing small daggers of ice to break apart the pieces that Magneto found him and took him under his wing. Despite almost freezing Magneto by pure accident on several occasions due to his lack of control, Ivan eventually grew up and became more powerful while under the care of the Brotherhood.
